Tour Plan

01

Day 1: BIA | Negambo

Warm welcome and Briefing the day - Ayubowan!!! Your guide from Reliance tours guide will be present at the arrival hall to greet you and assist you to your vehicle. For convenience sake, you may want to change your currency before departing the airport. Banks are open 24/7.

Afterwards you will be taken to Negombo.

Negombo is a modest beach town located just 10km from Bandaranaike International Airport. With a stash of decent hotels and restaurants to suit all pockets, a friendly local community, an interesting old quarter and a reasonable (though somewhat polluted) beach, Negombo is a much easier place to find your Sri Lankan feet than Colombo.

Overnight stay in Colombo

Day 2: Negambo | Kandy

After having your breakfast at the hotel proceed to the one of the most sacred cities in Srilanka “Kandy” where the ‘Temple of tooth Relic ‘is based. Check-in to the hotel and stay leisure for the rest of the day. En-route visit the Dambulla Golden Cave temple and Matale spice garden.

  • Optional: You can Witness the Cultural dance which is happening daily around 05.30pm at the temple.

Day 3: Kandy | Ella

After having your breakfast transfer to Ella. The road from Kandy to Ella climbs nearly 1400m as it winds through jade-green tea plantations and reservoirs. The 92km of asphalt allow for plenty of stops at waterfalls and tea outlets.

Kothmale Reservoir (also known as Puna Oya Reservoir) can be seen on the way. It’s part of the Mahaweli Development Project and blamed by some locals for climatic quirks in recent years. Ramboda Falls (108m), about 1.5km from the road, is a spectacular double waterfall.

Nearing Ella, the road gains elevation abruptly, passing several tea estates, then roadside stalls overflow with all sorts of veggies and flowers.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Ella | Udawalawe | Galle

The Udawalawe Elephant Transfer Home is an Elephant orphanage located within the Udawalawe National Park. Established in 1995 by the Department of wildlife Conservation, it is home to over 40 orphaned elephants. The orphaned calves and juveniles of the park are brought into the orphanage and raised with necessary care until such time as they could be released to their habitat. Once they are released to the park, the Park authorities take upon themselves to keep constant track of the beasts till they get used to the new life in the wild. As at the year 2008, no less than sixty-five elephants had been released to the jungle.

Galle is a jewel. A Unesco World Heritage Site, this historic city is a delight to explore on foot, an endlessly exotic old trading port blessed with imposing Dutch-colonial buildings, ancient mosques and churches, grand mansions and museums. Wandering its rambling lanes you'll pass stylish cafes, quirky boutiques and impeccably restored hotels owned by local and foreign artists, writers, photographers and designers.
